Sheet Pile of Ancol River Collapsed

The Ancol River's Sheet pile located at Jalan RE Martadinata, Pademangan, North Jakarta, collapsed. It causes the water overflows into the street and scrapes the plains on it.

It happened since Friday night. Probably it could not hold the load

Beritajakarta.com observation, the collapsed sheet pile makes hole with diameter about 2.5 meters and the length is about 15 meters with depth 5 meters. Now, the river is being dredged by Jakarta Water Management Department. As many as 3 excavators are on the location which is not far from Ancol Police Station.

Betty, (32), one of the residents told that the sheet pile had been collapsed since Friday night (10/23). "It happened since Friday night. Probably it could not hold the load," she said, Monday (10/26).

North Jakarta Mayor, Rustam Effendi stated that will coordinate with Water Management Department immediately.

"It must be repaired immediately. As for the dredging is the authority of Water Management Department. I will instruct them to repair it soon. So that the river would not be overflowing," he disclosed.
